The Sandman Season 2 Trailer: Two Volumes, Two Release Dates

Netflix has dropped a new trailer for The Sandman Season 2, starring Tom Sturridge as Lord Morpheus, aka Dream. The clip also reveals the release date for the upcoming season. Wait—actually, we have two premiere dates, as the second season has been split into two volumes.

Volume One will consist of six episodes and premiere on July 3. Volume Two will contain five episodes and drop on July 24. Not all titles on Netflix get the exclusive treatment of being split into multiple volumes—unless they’re pretty popular and guaranteed to draw in a handsome amount of viewership. The streamer did something similar with Cobra Kai Season 6, releasing the final season in three separate parts.

Following a significant family reunion, Dream of the Endless faces a series of incredibly difficult choices as he tries to protect himself, his realm, and the human world from the far-reaching consequences of his past actions in Season 2.

To right his wrongs, Dream must confront a range of beings—including old allies, enemies, deities, creatures, and humans. However, the journey to forgiveness is unpredictable, and achieving true absolution might require Dream to sacrifice everything.

The Sandman Season 2, based on the acclaimed DC comics, will bring Dream’s ongoing narrative to a full conclusion.

Yes, folks! The show will end with its second season. Following the allegations faced by co-showrunner Neil Gaiman regarding sexual misconduct and assault earlier this year, Netflix was reportedly forced to limit the acclaimed series to just two seasons.

The Sandman Season 1 was a massive success upon release. It amassed over 274 million hours of viewing time, beating out hits like Cobra Kai Season 4, which garnered 269 million hours. You can catch the first season on Netflix. Stay tuned for more updates.
