The season of cancellations and renewals continue at Netflix. Recently, it was reported that the controversial series Messiah had been cancelled, and now we have two more joining the list.
Netflix has dropped V Wars and October Faction after the first season. V Wars is a Vampire action series, which debuted in December last year. It was based on graphic novels of the same name. October Faction, on the other hand, is based on a comic book which deals with horror and occult fiction. It started to stream from January, earlier in the year.
Both the series did not get positive reviews, with October Faction being the worst one among the two. The cancellation, therefore, doesn’t come as a surprise.
However, in the past, Netflix has renewed series which didn’t really meet the high critical standards. It makes one wonder if the coronavirus crisis and stalling of productions have a part in taking the decision. Remember, these are big projects involving huge production cost and team. Maybe the cancellation is a way of cost-cutting measures keeping in mind the tough situations ahead.
