The Sympathizer: Robert Downey Jr Goes Unrecognizable

One of the few Marvel actors who has maintained his relevance in the era of Madame Web Is Robert Downey Jr. Now that he doesn’t work in the Marvel films anymore, he is doing fairly well in other kinda things. It also included his highly awaited OTT series in which he looks almost unrecognizable.

HBO has exciting news for fans waiting for “The Sympathizer” series! They just released a new trailer and revealed when the show will start airing, making sure it’s eligible for Emmy awards.

Based on a Pulitzer Prize-winning novel by Viet Thanh Nguyen, “The Sympathizer” is a mix of spy thrills and satire. It follows the story of the Captain, who is both French and Vietnamese. He works as a spy during the Vietnam War and later moves to Los Angeles as a refugee, where his spying days continue.

The show has a great cast, including Hoa Xuande as the Captain, and also features Sandra Oh and Robert Downey Jr. Downey Jr.
Interestingly, he also serves as the producer of the series.

The show is created by Korean filmmaker Park Chan-Wook who happens to be one of the most popular and prominent filmmakers from South Korea. Indians may recognise his name through films such as Oldboy, Decision To Leave, Thirst and more.

He has also involved himself in some TV series like The Little Drummer Girl.

The series is a product of Max. It means that it will be released on JioCinema. Let’s hope they maintain the timing and don’t delay it indefinitely.

As for the release date, it is scheduled for April 14. But we can only hope that it will be released on JioCinema around the same time.
