The Top 10 Contenders At The 76th Primetime Emmys!

The Primetime Emmy Awards are not only a celebration of the finest television titles streaming across the world, but they are also a commemoration for dedicated fans. With the nominations for the 76th edition of the Emmys rolling out recently, here’s a quick recap of the titles that garnered the most nods, and where to stream them!

1. Shōgun – Disney+ Hostar
FX’s epic historic drama has led the count with a staggering 25 nominations. In addition to being nominated for the ‘Best Drama Series’, the show’s lead actor-actress duo Hiroyuki Sanada and Anna Sawai have also been nominated for the Best Actor / Actress in a Drama Series category! Actors Tadanobu Asano and Takehiro Hira bagged nominations for their brilliant supporting acting!

2. The Bear – Disney+ Hotstar
Another FX title, a comedy series this time, is heading the leaderboard with a record-breaking 23 nominations! Apart from being nominated for the ‘Best Comedy Series’, the critically acclaimed show has also found itself a spot on the ‘Best Directing for a Comedy Series’ category! Jeremy Allen White and Ayo Edebiri have also bagged a place on the list for the ‘Best Actor / Actress in a Comedy Series’ list.

3. Only Murders in the Building – Disney+ Hotstar
The murder-comedy series boasting a star-studded cast including Selena Gomez, Martin Short, and Steve Martin, in leading roles, was nominated 21 times in total this time! Moreover, all three stars bagged individual ‘Best Actress / Actor in a Comedy Series’ nominations respectively! Meryl Streep and Paul Rudd also bagged supporting acting nominations for the show.

4. True Detective Night Country – JioCinema
The fourth season of True Detective, an American anthology crime drama TV series from HBO was nominated 19 times in totality! Alongside being a name on the list for ‘Best Limited or Anthology Series’, lead actress Jodie Foster from the show has also received a nomination for the ‘Best Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie’ category. John Hawkes and Kali Reis received nominations for their supporting acting.

5. The Crown – Netflix
Leading Netflix’s whopping 107 nomination count is this ‘Best Drama Series’ nominee whose total nominations have amounted to 1 18! Imelda Staunton, Dominic West, Elizabeth Debicki, Lesley Manville, and Jonathan Pryce have been nominated for ‘Best Actress / Actor in a Drama Series’ and the supporting acting of the latter three, respectively.

6. SNL
While Bowen Yang has bagged a nomination for the ‘Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series’ category, Ryan Gosling, Kristen Wiig, and Maya Rudolph have received them for the ‘Best Guest Actor / Actress in a Comedy Series’ respectively. In totality, it follows ‘The Crown’ closely with 17 nominations!

7. The Morning Show – Apple TV+
The show has gone on to secure half of the nominations in the supporting acting for drama series categories, and 16 in total, with Jon Hamm also earning a ‘Best Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie’ nomination for his role in ‘Fargo’. Jennifer Anniston and Reese Witherspoon have both received nominations in the ‘Best Actress in a Drama Series’ category!

8. Mr and Mrs Smith – Prime Video
Tallying with ‘The Morning Show’, the drama series has gathered 16 total nominations. This includes categories like ‘Best Drama Series’, and ‘Best Actress Actor in a Drama Series’ for Maya Erskine and Donald Glover, respectively.

9. Hacks – Netflix / JioCinema
With a total of 16 nominations, not only has the drama show earned a ‘Best Drama Series’ nomination, but it has also been nominated in the ‘Best Actress in a Comedy Series’ for Jean Smart. Paul W. Downs and Hannah Einbinder have also earned a spot on the list for ‘Best Supporting Actor / Actress in a Comedy Series’ nominations.

10. Fallout – Prime Video
Also earning 16 nominations in totality, the post-apocalyptic drama show has earned a nomination in the ‘Best Writing for a Drama Series’ category for its writers Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Graham Wagner!
