The Wager: Martin Scorsese Confirms His Next With Leo DiCaprio!

After much speculation and presumption from the fans, Martin Scorsese finally confirms that his next film will be with Leonardo DiCaprio.

The movie will be titled ‘The Wager’, and it is to be adapted from the novel of the same name written by author and journalist David Grann. David Grann was also the author of ‘Killers Of The Flower Moon’ from which Scorsese’s upcoming movie is adapted. The movie has gathered huge praise from critics and is, without any doubt, one of the most anticipated movies of the year. This also builds on the edifice of credibility for David Grann, who will have his second book adapted by the living legend.

The full name of the book is ‘The Wager: A Tale of Shipwreck, Mutiny and Murder’ and it tells the story of a group of sailors who face a shipwreck in the 1740s and are deserted on a Brazilian island. After a few months, another shipwreck happens nearby and a few more survivors come up to the island. Soon enough, the previous colonizers find out that they are actually mutineers. The mutiny on the ship goes on parallely with the conflicts in the minds of the men as well. The book has an intricate detailing of human emotions and has a rich literary value. There could have been no better director than Martin Scorsese to adapt this to big screens.

Leonardo Dicaprio playing the lead role is also a big news and it will be great to see the two Masters working together after films like ‘The Aviator’, ‘The Wolf Of Wall Street’, ‘Gangs Of New York’ and of course ‘Killers Of The Flower Moon’.
