The Water Tank In ZEE5’s Maa Neella Tank Is Akin To Office Water Cooler

ZEE5 Telugu’s upcoming show, ‘Maa Neella Tank’ centres on the village water tank and all the drama that takes place around it. It is a romantic comedy with a light-hearted, refreshing feel to it. Telugu show Maa Neella Tank premieres on ZEE5 this Friday, that is on July 15.

The teaser and trailer of Maa Neella Tank show how events in the narrative unfold around the village water tank in the tiny, quiet village of Muchivolu. In many ways, the water tank in the village reminds one of the proverbial office water cooler.

All ‘corporate’ types know the importance of the office water cooler. Water cooler chat or water cooler talk is when colleagues at work take a minute or two to indulge in light-hearted banter and aimless chit-chat, not related to work. The water cooler chat is the stress-buster in every office. It gives employees the chance to socialise with each other and catch up on the office grapevine. If not for the water cooler, employees would only be busy in work and more work, with no time or space to get to know each other.

The water tank takes the place of the office water cooler in India’s towns and villages. Mostly located in the centre of the villages, the water tank acts as a place to meet and greet fellow villagers or townsmen. In Maa Neella Tank too, all the fun and action unfolds around the village water tank. The local big shot’s son Gopal (Sudarshan) climbs atop the water tank and threatens to jump off it, if not united with the love of his life, Surekha (Priya Anand). As more and more village people gather around the water tank, things take a hilarious turn. Gopal’s father threatens him with dire consequences, his mother invokes her motherhood and what not. Local police officer Vamshi (Sushanth) then promises to do something about it.

Undoubtedly, the water tank plays an important role in ‘Maa Neella Tank’. It remains to be seen if the water tank will witness a happy ending to the story that kicks off from its bosom in the upcoming show on ZEE5.

Maa Neella Tank is produced by Praveen Kolla, and directed by Lakshmi Sowjanya. It stars Sushanth, Priya Anand, Lavanya Reddy, Sudharshan, Prem Sagar, Ramaraj, Nirosha Ratha, Divi Vadtthya, Vasu, among others, in crucial roles.
