The Wheel Of Time Season 3 May Focus More On These Characters

The Wheel of Time Season 2 was undoubtedly better than the first season in terms of focused storytelling, characterizations, and being more faithful to Robert Jordan’s works. Season 1 showed great potential but was adversely affected by many unexpected shakeups, including the removal of actor Barney Harris and several other production problems. It was indeed a challenge for the writing team, consisting of talents like Rafe Judkins, to maintain the alignment of Season 1’s story with Jordan’s epic fantasy saga. But we should expect Season 3 to turn out better than its predecessors. And it will focus more on these characters: Nynaeve (Zoe Robbins), Moghedien (Laia Costa), and Elayne (Ceara Coveney).

The Wheel of Time Season 3 will adapt The Shadow Rising, the fourth novel from Robert Jordan’s Wheel of Time novels. Season 2 took inspiration from ‘The Great Hunt (2nd)’ and ‘The Dragon Reborn (3rd)’. The Shadow Rising bestows significant focus on the adventures of Nynaeve and Elayne. It explores and often bumps Elayne’s sheltered lifestyle against the former’s realistic nature and impatience. In addition, fans may witness Nynaeve in an epic battle with Moghedien, one of the Forsaken, in the next season.

The finale of the second season showed Lanfear confronting Moghedien. Later, we witness that all of the Forsaken have been set free. So, it is certain that fans will meet with more Forsaken characters in Season 3.

The third season will devote significant attention to Nynaeve’s duel with Moghedien in the city of Tanchico. Zoe Robbins also teased this duel in a recent interview:

“Yes, definitely. I’m going to have to tread very carefully, but there’s a moment in season three that I think Wheel of Time book readers will be very, very happy about. It was incredibly exciting to shoot. I think that’s all I can say.”

Moghedien is one of the cruelest characters from Robert Jordan’s novels. In addition, she is way too powerful in the dream world of Tel’aran’rhiod. Her brief appearance in Season 2 means that fans will see more of her in Season 3.

The Wheel of Time Season 3 is currently under production. Prime Video has not yet revealed its release window. Stay tuned for more updates.
