An animated movie based on ‘The Wheel Of Time’ novels written by Robert Jordan is now in the works. The movie has been titled ‘The White Tower’ and filmmaker Jay Oliva is roped in to direct it.
There is already a big budget show on Amazon Prime Video going on that is based on the novel series. But this movie will be set in a time before the events chronicles in the series.
It will be a standalone movie that will tell the story of a young girl with magical powers. She finds out that evil is lurking around her village and she needs to tighten up and use her powers to save the village. The girl must go to the White Tower to control her powers and learn to use them. There she gets to know that there is a weapon which is as powerful as magic.
Zack Stenz, who is known for ‘Thor’ is writing the screenplay for the movie.
Jay Oliva is a well known name in the animation industry. He has directed the animated The Dark Knight Returns (Part 1 and Part 2), Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox, Justice League: War, Batman: Assault on Arkham, Batman vs. Robin, and Batman Bad Blood. He has also provided storyboards for Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel and 300: Rise of an Empire, Batman v. Superman, Ant-Man, Deadpool, Wonder Woman, and Justice League.
When a big show is already going on based on The Wheel Of Time, some people think it is utterly useless to go on such a venture. But the crew looks promising and hopefully, it will be a new experience, and a new cinematic experience.
