Fantasy action-adventure has been a staple diet of moviegoers across cultures and nations. A well-made film or series in this genre unites audience like nothing else. The phenomenal success of the Lord of the Rings or the Game of Thrones is a shining example.
Netflix understanding the power has been long planning a fantasy action-adventure, and they got the right content in author Andrzej Sapkowski’s The Witcher. A series of the same name went into production with big names and budget, and its trailer is out now.
Starring Henry Cavil, famous for his Superman avatar in DC comics movies, The Witcher is about his journey in a fantasy world. The trailer has been cut neatly to cater to the audience who are aware of the source material, and also who aren’t. The world comprising of the monsters and sorcerers and human are well established. The basic hook involving the lead protagonist Geralt (Henry Cavil) is adequately shown.
The production values look grand, and the little that is visible of special effects seems decent as well. The Witcher is a series created by Lauren Schmidt and Hissrich. They are also part of the writing team. Freya Allan and Anya Chalotra play other essential roles in this epic. Check out the trailer below.
