The Woman King; Unmissable Golden Globe Nominee Arrives On OTT

A new and super buzzy American film is now streaming on Prime Video. Not only is it buzzy but also very controversial in its true sense. The reason behind this is racism. There were mainly two sects in that scene, one of which was celebrating the idea of an African woman who fought for their people. Secondly, there were people who called the film a misrepresentation of historical facts.

But whatever the case may be. The Woman King is an important film that needs to be acknowledged. The film is led by Viola Davis who is supported by Thuso Mbedu, Lashana Lynch, Sheila Atim, Hero Fiennes Tiffin, and John Boyega.

The film is set in the 1800s when a woman general with her all-woman army. They were abducted by slavers from the Oyo Empire. A woman from the army steps up and creates history with her valor and dedication to save her people.

The Woman King was received greatly by critics for its cinematic brilliance. However, the effect of controversy was reciprocated to what it could have been in India. Normally, controversial films do good business in India but it was exactly the opposite in the USA. The film could do much better business which unfortunately it didn’t.

Anyways, The Woman King is now available to stream on Prime Video Store and BookMyShow Stream. You can rent the film for ₹249 on both platforms.
