The Tamil romantic relationship drama movie ‘Theera Kaadhal’ starring Aishwarya Rajesh, Jai, and Sshivada in the lead roles was released in theatres around a month ago. And for those of you who missed watching the film on the big screen, there’s no need to worry as it will soon start streaming on an Indian OTT platform. The movie’s digital streaming rights were acquired by the Netflix OTT platform and as per the latest update, ‘Theera Kaadhal’ will drop on Netflix tomorrow, that is, from 23rd June onwards.
Helmed by Rohin Venkatesan (Director – ‘Petromax’), ‘Theera Kaadhal’ follows the story of a young married man named Gautham (played by Jai), who, by a twist of fate, meets his former love interest Aaranya (Aishwarya Rajesh) during a train journey. Their chance encounter rekindles their old romantic relationship as Aaranya seeks solace from her ex-lover owing to her abusive marital relationship. But the incident creates ripples in Gautham’s happily married life and adversely affects all three people involved including Gautham’s wife Vandhana (played by Sshivada).
Although ‘Theera Kaadhal’ received rather mixed feedback from critics at the time of its theatrical release, the film is still considered to be a decent watch by a segment of movie buffs. It currently holds an audience appreciation score of 7.8/10 on movie ticketing portal BookMyShow. It remains to be seen whether ‘Theera Kaadhal’ will be able to impress OTT audiences this week on Netflix or not as there have been many films in the recent past which have been able to do so.
