These Characters Will Steal Spotlight In Avatar: The Last Airbender S2

Despite receiving a mixed response from critics, Netflix’s Avatar: The Last Airbender has turned out to be a massive streaming hit among the viewers. The streaming giant’s live-action take on the popular Nickelodeon animated series has become a mammoth streaming success, earning over 20 million views with more than 154 million hours of viewing. This scenario must have forced Netflix to greenlight the show for two more seasons. While Season 3 will take a long time to come out, we should focus now on Season 2.

Two popular characters will steal all the spotlight in Avatar: The Last Airbender Season 2: Princess Azula and Toph Beifong. The former character, played by Elizabeth Yu, will get more screen time in the second season. She will take centre stage as the show’s primary villain after Iroh and Zuko get branded as traitors of the Fire Nation. We should expect her to become more ambitious and ruthless in Season 2. She does not want Zuko near the Fire Nation’s throne and will do whatever she can to eliminate her insecure brother for good.

Another character stealing the spotlight in Season 2 should be Toph Beifong. She appears in “Book Two: Earth” in the original animated series. So, we should expect her live-action debut in Netflix’s Season 2 of Avatar: The Last Airbender.

Being an earthbending prodigy herself, Toph will become Aang’s teacher in the next season. Aang needs to master earthbending to successfully complete his journey in mastering all four key elements. We could witness Toph’s unconventional ways of bending posing a challenge to Aang’s traditional viewpoints on bending. What really makes Toph a standout character in Season 2 is her ability to sense Earth’s vibrations. She is blind but uses the in-ground vibrations to sense everything around her. In addition, we could witness her becoming the first-ever metalbender in Season 2.
