These Emmy Winners Have Teamed Up For ‘Tightrope!’ Reimagination!

Two time Emmy-award-winning American actor Ty Burrell skyrocketed to sitcom stardom with his joyously warm portrayal of Phil Dunphy, an eccentric realtor / father of three in ABC’s fan-acclaimed ‘Modern Family’.

Since then, he has starred in ‘Finding Dory’, ‘Rough Night’, ‘The Incredible Hulk’, and many more. For his upcoming project, he will star as the main lead in the comedy reimagining of the hit 1950 series ‘Tightrope!’. Coming from the streaming service Roku, the show will reshape the drama of the vintage series into a slapstick comedy.

‘Tightrope!’ aired for one season in 1959-60 on CBS. The drama starred Mike Connors as the main man, an undercover police officer who infiltrated various criminal organizations.

The reimagination will follow Burrell as he plays a lone wolf detective following cases from city to city, while also searching for a long-lost love who, unfortunately, got away. Burrell will not only star in the limited series but will also be an executive producer on it alongside the Emmy-award-winning Bryan Cranston.

Cranston, most renowned for playing ‘Heisenberg’, the school-teacher-turned-drug-mogul in AMC’s critically acclaimed ‘Breaking Bad’ and its related projects, is excited to ‘create a new version of a lunatic comedy, never seen before in a TV series’. Village Roadshow Television is producing the series with Cranston’s Moonshot Entertainment and Burrell’s Blue Whale Productions.
