If you’re looking for an underrated gem to watch, then you are in luck and we have the perfect recommendation for you. The series we want you to try out is Golden Globes nominated ‘The Bear’ streaming now on Hotstar.
The Bear is a comedy-drama series created by Christopher Storer(Dickinson). It stars Jeremy Allen White, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Ayo Edebiri, Lionel Boyce, Liza Colón-Zayas, and Abby Elliott and received critical acclaim upon release, getting its lead star Jeremy a nomination at the Golden Globe Award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series — Musical or Comedy. The series broke records on its original streamer upon its release in the US and was quickly renewed for a second season.
The series’ official synopsis reads: “A young chef from the fine dining world comes home to Chicago to run his family sandwich shop after a heartbreaking death in his family. A world away from what he’s used to, Carmy(Jeremy Allen White) must balance the soul-crushing realities of small business ownership, his strong-willed and recalcitrant kitchen staff and his strained familial relationships, all while grappling with the impact of his brother’s suicide. As Carmy fights to transform both the shop and himself, he works alongside a rough-around-the-edges kitchen crew that ultimately reveals itself as his chosen family.”
Trust us when we tell you that this series will surprise you. An 8-episode series with each episode between 30-35 minutes, the series is perfect binge-watch material. Spoiler alert, it’s not a comedy-drama as it’s sold to be. It is unusual, and brutally real at times, but if you wanna try something new, jump straight on. Like most Hulu series on Hotstar, this one too is definitely worth a try.
