Interceptor, an American-Australian action thriller helmed by Matthew Reilly released worldwide on Netflix on June 3,2022. In hardly five days the film is a hot favourite amongst Netflix India audience too. The film stars Elsa Pataky and Luke Bracey and is executive produced by Avengers star Chris Hemsworth.
Until today Netflix India top 3 positions were occupied by Stranger Things 4 Vol. 1, Jana Gana Mana and RRR respectively and it seems like the English film finally streamlined it’s way into Top 2. For the past one week, both Jana Gana Mana and RRR were taking turns and occupying #2 and #3 on Netflix Top 10 and the new entry has now pushed them to #3 and #4 respectively.
The Netflix synopsis of Interceptor reads: “When a simultaneous coordinated attack then threatens the base itself, Collins (Luke Bracey) comes face-to-face with the charismatic yet crooked Alexander Kessel (Luke Bracey), a former US military intelligence officer intent on carrying out an unthinkable plan. With only minutes on the clock, Collins must utilize her years of tactical training and military expertise to determine who she can trust and stop Kessel and his covert mercenaries from completing their twisted and terrible mission.”
The film revolves around Army captain JJ Collins, Commander of the remote missile interceptor station, who is forced to use her years of training and military expertise to subvert a simultaneously orchestrated attack that threatens station.
Now the synopsis pretty much gives an idea of how universal the film is and no wonder Indian audience is watching the film, given how much our audience likes action films. Not only that, Chris Hemsworth himself has an uncredited cameo appearance in the film. Interceptor had a limited theatrical release in Australia on 26th May before it’s worldwide Netflix release.
