Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 2 is all set to arrive on the Disney+ streaming platform in 2025. Riordan answered some interesting questions in a recent Q&A session on Goodreads about Season 2. The author revealed that he has already watched the first two episodes of the upcoming season and described them as “amazing.” He also mentioned that the character Clarisse LaRue (played by Dior Goodjohn) will have a much bigger role in the sophomore entry.
“I’ve seen early cuts of the first two episodes now and they are already amazing. One thing I really appreciate about season two is Clarisse LaRue being more of a major character, just as she is in the Sea of Monsters book. Dior Goodjohn has definitely brought her ‘A game’ to this season — I can’t wait for viewers to see her incredible work!”
Percy Jackson Season 2 is currently in the post-production stage, with a focus on improving the show’s visuals. As a result, we can expect it to premiere in late 2025.
Speaking of Goodjohn’s Clarisse, the fact that she will receive more screen time compared to Season 1 highlights how closely the Disney+ series is adhering to Riordan’s books—a hugely positive sign. The Percy Jackson movies, starring Logan Lerman as the titular lead, were notorious for deviating from the source material, an aspect that was heavily criticised by Riordan.
Clarisse becomes a more prominent character in The Sea of Monsters, which means she will play a much larger role in shaping the events of Season 2. She will be seen saving Camp Half-Blood, allowing viewers to witness her bravery and leadership qualities—qualities that stand in stark contrast to her bully-like and mean persona in Season 1. Additionally, her true intentions and vulnerabilities will be further explored. Clarisse is the daughter of Ares (Adam Copeland), the God of War.
