The underlying story of P.S. Vinothraj’s directorial debut film ‘Pebbles’ follows an alcoholic father, who undertakes an arduous journey with his son in the backdrop of a deserted terrain and scorching heat, in order to bring his wife back.
P.S. Vinothraj’s critically acclaimed Tamil drama movie ‘Koozhangal’ aka ‘Pebbles’ (international title) is one of those Indian films which was able to attract international attention and admiration. First, it bagged the Tiger award at the 2021 edition of the International Film Festival Rotterdam last year.
Thereafter, the film was selected as India’s official entry for the 2022 Oscars. Later, it was also nominated for the ‘Best International Film’ category at the 2022 edition of the Film Independent Spirit Awards.
