If you’ve not watched Marathi film ‘Vaalvi‘ as yet, then we suggest you watch it as soon as possible. Coz it’s easily the best thing streaming on OTT right now. The film began streaming on ZEE5 this Friday, 24th February, and has soon become the darling of digital viewers this week. Whoever has watched the film in the theatres or on ZEE5 has been raving about it no end.
‘Vaalvi’, meaning termites, is a dark comedy in the garb of a murder mystery, much like Ayushmann Khurrana’s hit movie, ‘Andhadhun’. Some folks have even compared its subtle, intelligent humour with the seminal 1983 film, ‘Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro’. Vaalvi combines hilarious humour with nail-biting suspense, clever twists, and some smart and witty one-liners, to deliver a smashing film-watching experience.
The film is directed by Paresh Mokashi, who’s made the stellar Harishchandrachi Factory earlier. ‘Vaalvi’ stars top Marathi actors Swapnil Joshi, Anita Date, Subodh Bhave and Shivani Surve in lead roles. The short synopsis of the film reads, “Aniket is fed up with his wife Avani’s tantrums and wants a divorce, but she refuses. Aniket and his girlfriend plot to kill the bothersome woman, but nothing goes as planned.”
