When stories inspired from true events are brought to screen and create an emotional roller coaster you just cannot miss it. One such show is Netflix’s ‘Trial By Fire’.
Inspired from the book ‘Trial by Fire: The Tragic Tale of the Uphaar Fire Tragedy’ by Neelam and Shekhar Krishnamoorthy who lost their two children in the tragic fire accident at the Uphaar cinemas in Delhi in 1997, Netflix’s ‘Trial By Fire’ follows the couple as their life turns upside down after the incident.
The show very well captures the tumultuous journey of the couple fighting for justice against the corrupt system for their dead children while trying to manage the ups and downs of their relationship. On an individual level too they face various difficulties that is portrayed very solemnly in the series.
‘Trial By Fire’ is heartbreaking, specially for parents who can better relate to the feelings of the lead characters. At the same time it also inspires you to never give up. But at the same time it also asks the hard question, “How much has India changed since then?”
Abhay Deol and Rajshri Deshpande deliver absolutely stunning and memorable performance as Shekhar and Neelam Krishnamoorthy.
If you haven’t seen Prashant Nair and Kevin Luperchio’s ‘Trial By Fire’ yet, you are missing out on an incredible gem from Netflix India.
