Post apocalyptic Argentinian series ‘The Eternaut’, which is the first screen adaptation of the iconic science fiction graphic novel by Héctor G. Oesterheld, and illustrated by Francisco Solano López, had reportedly contributed over 41 billion pesos to the country’s economy.
Moreover, ‘The Eternaut’ has claimed the number 1 spot on Netflix’s Global Top 10 for non-English language series with 10.8 million views worldwide. It was also in the weekly top 10 in 87 countries.

‘The Eternaut’ had begun production back in 2019 in Argentina. The ambitious Netflix project is a tedious labour of love that took two whole years for script development and writing, followed by four and a half months for pre-production, 148 days for shooting in Buenos Aires, and more than a year and a half for post-production.
A first of it’s kind in Argentina, ‘The Eternaut’ not only created multiple job opportunities but also invloves usage of some pretty high level technology which has now opened a whole new avenue for the entertainment industry there. All this collectively had a direct impact on the sector’s economy as mentioned above.
