Lovers of a great investigative thriller and suspense mystery are in for a treat. All seven episodes of the impressive ‘Mare Of Easttown‘ are now streaming on Disney Plus Hotstar. The series, a creation of premiere content giant HBO, followed the one episode a week pattern of streaming. But since all 7 episodes of the season are now out (the seventh and last episode dropped this morning on Disney Plus Hotstar Premium), those who love binge-watching their content can watch the entire season at one go.
A young girl is found brutally murdered in the small town of Easttown. It falls on local detective Mare Sheehan (Kate Winslet) to get to the bottom of the murder. Mare’s own world seems to be falling apart, as she deals with a divorce and grief over her dead son who took his own life. Adding to her troubles is the niggling one-year-old case of the disappearance of another young girl, which Mare hasn’t been able to solve yet. Mare Of Easttown is an atmospheric suspense mystery; and the twist in the finale episode is simply stunning.
The series boasts an excellent ensemble cast. Besides Kate Winslet in the titular role, Mare Of Easttown features Jean Smart, Guy Pearce, Julianne Nicholson, Angourie Rice, David Denman, Evan Peters, Sosie Bacon, and John Douglas Thompson in pivotal roles. The series is directed by Craig Zobel.
Mare Of Easttown has been showered with praises – by critics and audiences alike. Kate Winslet’s performance has come in for special praise. Most viewers have proclaimed a sure-shot Best Performance Emmy for Kate Winslet. We loved both the series and Kate Winslet in it; and cannot recommend it enough to our readers.
