This Must-Watch Netflix Thriller Film Just Flew Under The Radar

In all the hype of HBO’s ‘The House Of The Dragon’ and Prime Video’s ‘The Rings Of Power’, which released in August and the start of September respectively, a must-watch Netflix thriller film flew under the radar. The British film garnered very little attention from digital viewers, this despite the fact that it was recommended by master storyteller, Stephen King, no less.

The Netflix film we’re talking of is the thriller film ‘I Came By‘. Directed by Babak Anvari of Under the Shadow fame, ‘I Came By’ is a sleek and sinister film that deserves more love from Netflix users. The film stars Downton Abbey actor, Hugh Bonneville, along with George Mackay and Kelly Macdonald.

At its core, ‘I Came By’ centres on a pair of marginalised youngsters that targets the rich and famous of London. The two youngsters vandalise their properties and spray-paint graffiti on the walls that says, “I Came By”. But dig deeper, and ‘I Came By’ is a condemnation of the glaring inequality in British society between the haves and the have-nots. Just like ‘Parasite’ before, ‘I Came By’ slams the divide and discrimination between the rich and the poor.

While George Mackay (1917) and Kelly Mcdonald are good in their roles, it is Hugh Bonneville who drives the film and its edgy character. He plays Hector Blake, a member of the British elite, who pretends to bat for the poor and the marginalised. But the evil that he actually exudes when Toby (George Mackay) enters his property with the intention of vandalising it must be seen to be believed.

If you liked ‘Don’t Breathe’, you’re sure to like ‘I Came By’ on Netflix. Give it a watch this weekend; and yes, don’t forget to mention in the comments if you liked it or not.
