We are taking the opportunity to tell you it’s not Harry Potter but ‘Fate: The Winx Saga,’ a recent six episode show dropped by Netflix. Belonging to the supernatural and fantasy genre, this show is a Nickelodeon animated series turned teen drama series. The story revolves around Bloom, a fire fairy, who joins Alfea school in the ‘Otherworld’ to learn and control her magic. Over the period, she learns about her past and with the help of her friends, tries to defeat the mindless monsters who are a threat to Bloom and everyone else’s existence.
After its release, the show managed to remain in Netflix’s top ten for quite sometime. However, one of the leading reviewers, Rotten Tomatoes, is in disagreement. It gives a rating of nothing more than 35 percent! This is not all. The other leading reviewer, IMDb, is on a completely different page. It has given ‘Fate: The Winx Saga‘ 7 out of 10 which is much more than Rotten Tomatoes.
The show also received mixed reviews from the viewers. Some said it’s a trip down the memory lane because of the adaptation, some call it unique with cliff hangers after each episode, some think it’s perfect to binge watch, and some can’t wait for season two! A number of viewers also mentioned that reviewers are being extremely harsh on this show by comparing it with highly acclaimed Harry Potter.
Coming to the negatives, viewers are calling this Netflix project, a perfect example of mediocrity. Some have used harsh words like awful, terribly boring and unbearable. Some consider it as an inferior version of world’s favourite Harry Potter series. Oops!
