This Netflix Rom-Com Looks Yum & Has A Celebrity Twist!

Good food and good looking people make for a perfect eye treat in this Netflix romantic comedy film, that’s more on the mature side but still gets your heart filled with that young love.

Today’s recommendation is Nahnatchka Khan’s directorial ’Always Be My Maybe’ on Netflix that follows two childhood friends-cum-sweethearts who have a falling out and reconnect 16 years after having taken wildly different paths in life.

Sasha (Ali Wong) is now a celebrity chef (who cooks some amazing dishes in the film) while Marcus (Randall Park) plays in a local band and stays with his widowed father in San Francisco, where the two grew up. They accidentally meet when Sasha returns to the city to open her new restaurant and eventually become friends again.

While both have subdued feelings for each other, they are in a situation where it seems a bit complicated to confess the same. Meanwhile, Sasha’s new love interest is the celebrity twist you have been waiting to know and it’s none other than Keanu Reeves, the movie star himself. On the other hand, Marcus too has a girlfriend.

It takes them quite a time before realising that what they have been wanting all along was always right in front of them the whole time. The comfort they enjoy in each other’s company, the way they get to be themselves without any pretence is what makes them a perfect couple. But will they still hold back or tell each other how they feel?

‘Always Be My Maybe’ is a perfect light hearted emotional watch that will make you laugh, feel the love and at times hungry! The film starring Ali Wong and Randall Park in lead roles, with Keanu Reeves making a stunning cameo is currently streaming on Netflix and what better than the weekend to catch up on it.
