This Netflix Sci-fi Thriller Will Make You Hold Your Breath

Breathing is just so normal a phenomenon that we often forget how grateful we need to be for the oxygen this earth provides us. But after watching the sci-go thriller drama we recommend you today you will surely realise its importance.

We are talking about the French sci-fi thriller ‘Oxygen’ on Netflix directed and produced by Alexandre Aja, with a screenplay from Christie LeBlanc. This 2021 film takes place in space, but mostly in a small cryogenic chamber in space.

‘Oxygen’ begins with a woman (Mélanie Laurent) awakening in an enclosed chamber with no memories of who she is or why she’s there. With the assistance of an AI called MILO (voiced by Mathieu Amalric), she’s able to contact emergency services, but they’re not able to help. Making matters worse, the oxygen levels in her chamber are running out and MILO won’t release her. In this race of time and air who will win is the crux of the story.

Part of an American-French co-production ‘Oxygen’ stars Mélanie Laurent, Mathieu Amalric and Malik Zidi in prominent roles. This survival thriller uses the claustrophobic setting very deftly and the lead star’s performance is the highlight.

‘Oxygen’ is currently streaming on Netflix and makes for quite a good watch over a weekend.
