Our today’s recommendation is Oscar Isaac and Natalie Portman starrer ‘Annihilation’ on Netflix. While the star cast might be a good enough reason for many to watch this film, for others this article will definitely make you consider it as your next watch.
Directed by Alex Garland, ‘Annihilation’ is based on the 2014 eponymous novel be Jeff VanderMeer. The story follows a group of explorers who enter “The Shimmer”, a mysterious quarantined zone of mutating plants and animals caused by an alien presence.
Lena, a biologist and former soldier, joins a mission to uncover what happened to her husband inside Area X, a sinister and mysterious phenomenon that is expanding across the American coastline. Once inside, the expedition discovers a world of mutated landscapes and creatures, as dangerous as it is beautiful, that threatens both their lives and their sanity.
Other than Issac and Portman, ‘Annihilation’ also stars Jennifer Jason Leigh, Gina Rodriguez, Tessa Thompson and Tuva Novotny among others.
‘Annihilation’ isn’t that cliché sci-fi alien movie but is impactful and has pretty good plot line. it creates that long lasting impression on your mind. Though a slow burn in the beginning, it will start gripping your interest as the movie moves ahead. ‘Annihilation’ is currently streaming on Netflix and if you haven’t seen it yet, do try it!
