Every filmmaker in the tinsel town is leaving no stone unturned to make their presence felt in the digital space. And the list is only increasing by the day. RS Prasanna, who’d directed the Tamil film Kalyana Samayal Saadham and its Bollywood remake Shubh Mangal Saavadhan (that starred Ayushman Khurana and Bhumi Pednekar), has officially launched his production house Eklavya Productions. The company will begin work on a Tamil web series soon.
The web series will also be co-produced by the brainchild of late, legendary director K Balachander, Kavithalaya Productions. A young director Praveen Raghupathy will be helming the series whose cast will be revealed shortly, an announcement read.
The director took to social media to add, “Excited about Digital platform storytelling. Can’t have asked for a more exciting start than with KB Sir’s Blessing! KB sir was the pioneer of bold, unusual stories which today are in Vogue! I have no doubt that Digital Platforms are potentially way way bigger than Theatrical reach and impact. Popular cultural references that bind the world together is just one indicator.” (sic)
