‘Mahaan’ is a film by Karthik Subbaraj (‘Jigarthanda’, ‘Jagame Thandiramm, ‘Jigarthanda DoubleX’) and follows the turbulent journey of a common middle aged man whose one small act of rebellion takes his family away from him but its from there that his life takes a turn and he later becomes a pride billionaire. But a time comes when he starts to face unexpected haywire challenges. How he handles it all forms the crux of the story.
Starring Vikram in the lead ‘Mahaan’ is a stylish, well crafted gangster drama that will keep you hooked with its gripping story, high energy and an engaging screenplay. What’s most commendable about the film are the solid performances, not just Vikram but everyone’s done an extremely well job including Dhruv Vikram, Bobby Simha and more.
The single take action sequences and the father-son climax are certain highlights of ‘Mahaan’ and are worth looking forward to. The only negative thing about the film is its length which could have been worked upon, but overall the film is a spicy action family drama.
