Nearly two decades after we saw Zac Efron reprise the role of teen heartthrob Troy Bolton in the ‘High School Musical’ franchise, the actor is making a comeback with his alma mater, Disney with the remake of 1987 comedy classic ‘Three Men and A Baby’.
As per reports, Disney+ is developing the hit comedy film with producer Gordon Gray and writer Will Reichel and Efron will play one of the lead characters. The other two roles have not been cast of now.
The original revolved around three carefree bachelors living in New York whose lives came to a screeching halt when they are forced to become parents to a baby who is the daughter of one of them. It starred Ted Danson, Tom Selleck and Steve Guttenberg and was directed by Leonard Nimoy.
Zac Efron was last seen in Netflix documentary ‘Down To Earth’ but that wasn’t a scripted role so this film is his first proper foray into the world of streaming platforms.
Disney+ is looking for a director for the remake as of now so an announcement for the same can be expected soon.
