The original Telugu version is available on Amazon Prime Video and many have already it given it a go. Earlier when remakes of South Indian movies were made the advantage was that not many people from other parts of the country had seen it. But now with the film being available on a platform like Prime Video will people be interested in its remake?
Such announcements might infact raise people’s curiosity about the original version and instead of waiting for the remake they might just watch it instantly. That raises the risk for the remake being a success to a whole new level. This is one of those risks OTT poses for filmmakers.
Will the audience be interested in something they have already seen and can watch it again whenever they want. How will Raj Kumar Rao’s version of ‘Hit’ fare when it gets released is yet to be seen but there is no denying that this is one hell of a risky ride down the lane.
