Helmed by Daniel Goldhaber, the horror flick revolves around Alice, a camgirl who performs sexual live shows under the username Lola. She hides her real job from her mother, who believes her daughter works in a web development company. But her brother knows the truth. Alice forces him to keep her real job a secret.
Alice’s obsession with becoming the top camgirl somehow puts her in a unique but terrifying situation. She finds out that an ominous presence has taken her place on the internet. After that, all hell breaks loose!
The thing that makes Cam one of the best horror flicks is its ability to balance scary moments with appropriate care and thought for sex workers. As for Madeline Brewer, The Handmaid’s Tale fame does everything right. She delivers a truly standout performance in the film. Additionally, Isa Mazzei’s innovative and top-notch script takes the flick to a whole new level of ‘awesomeness’.
The flick currently stands with a 93% score, based on 100 reviews, on Rotten Tomatoes.
