This Upcoming Bangla Horror Has Some High Stakes

The release of Bhog on Hoichoi is imminent and fans are eager. Based on a novella of the same name by Avik Sarkar, Bhog is not the story’s first foray into the digital screens. This OTT release is helmed by the acclaimed Parambrata Chattopadhyay. Fans have plenty to be excited about, as he has proven his mastery over horror TV series through his last two ventures. Releasing on the 1st of May is already garnering a lot of attention on the internet and for the right reasons. The series stars the likes of Anirban Bhattacharya, Parno Mittra, and Rajatabha Dutta. With a star-studded cast such as this, there are plenty of reasons for viewers to expect and get excited.

The show deals with Bhattacharya’s character, Atin at the center of the narrative. Stumbling upon a figure of an unknown deity sets Atin on a frantic journey of obsessive worship. The audience is expecting the Byomkesh star to give yet another spectacular performance. How his portrayal of a fanatic worshipper stands out against his performances in hits like Vinci Da or Dwitiyo Purush remains to be seen. As mentioned by Chattopadhyay, the series would highlight the detrimental effects of blind fanaticism.

Bhog is to start serialization from May 1st on Hoichoi.
