Last week was marked with the arrival of some exciting Indian OTT titles including several films and web series such as ‘Cuttputlli’, ‘The Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives S2’ ‘Vikrant Rona’, and ‘Khuda Haafiz: Chapter 2’, to name a few.
Likewise, the current week too has some eagerly anticipated OTT films and web series coming up. For this article, we have compiled a list of the top Indian titles streaming on OTT platforms this week.
Sayanna Varthakal (Streaming on Sun NXT from 5th September)
The dark comedy thriller movie follows the story of Ravi Kumar (Gokul Suresh Gopi), who starts a skilled education centre but gets trapped in illegal activities and corruption pertaining to the education sector. Later, he decides to become a whistle-blower and gives a sensational interview to an independent TV channel run by Dennis (Dhyan Sreenivasan). What happens after the eye-opening interviews forms the film’s crux.
Indian Predator: The Diary of a Serial Killer (Streaming on Netflix from 7th September)
The crime docuseries is the second instalment of the Indian Predator series and revolves around the murder of a journalist – a crime which traces back an alleged cannibal who was accused of killing several other people. Shocking revelations came to the fore after the authorities came across a secret diary of the alleged killer.
Vikram (Streaming on Zee5 from 7th September – TBA)
Helmed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the star-studded action entertainer features the terrific trio of Kamal Haasan, Vijay Sethupathi, and Fahadh Faasil alongside Suriya in a cameo. Kamal Haasan is essaying the titular character of a retired cop named Vikram, who is given the mission to rescue a top brass government official.
Paappan (Streaming on Zee5 from 7th September)
Helmed by Joshiy, the Malayalam language crime film features Suresh Gopi as a voluntarily retired cop Abraham Mathew Mathan aka Paappan, who reluctantly comes back to investigate an old murder case.
Ek Villain Returns (Streaming on Netflix from 9th September)
Mohit Suri’s romantic thriller ‘Ek Villain Returns’ features John Abraham, Arjun Kapoor, Disha Patani, and Tara Sutaria in the lead roles. The story follows two men with one-sided love and how their decisions and the path they take decide who is the hero and the villain amongst them.
Uni Ki Yaari (Streaming on MX Player from 9th September)
Directed by Partha Sarathi Manna, the comedy drama web series revolves around a group of friends studying in Chandigarh University and how they deal with various aspects of college life.
