This Week’s Top Foreign OTT Releases: Barbie, Wilderness & More

Last week was marked with the arrival of some exciting foreign OTT titles including several films and web series such as ‘The Little Mermaid’, I Am Groot S2’, ‘The Changeling’, and ‘Dear Child’, to name a few.

Likewise, the current week too has some eagerly anticipated foreign OTT films and web series coming up. For this article, we have compiled a list of the top foreign titles streaming on OTT platforms this week.

Barbie (Streaming on Amazon Prime Video, BMS Stream, iTunes, YouTube from 12th September – Rent)

The film follows the story of the titular character (played by Margot Robbie), whose perfect life takes an interesting turn, and she decides to take a trip to the real world along with an equally inquisitive Ken (Ryan Gosling) after going through an existential crisis. After reaching real-world Los Angeles, the duo gets a reality check as they discover the existence of sexism and patriarchy.

Elemental (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from 13th September)

Set in a world where the elements of fire, water, air, and land live together, the animated romantic comedy movie revolves around how fire and water elements Ember and Wade meet and fall in love with each other.

Han River Police (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from 13th September)

The South Korean buddy cop crime series focuses on two police officers who handle day-to-day emergency situations and different types of crimes on Seoul’s Han River.

Class Act (Streaming on Netflix from 13th September)

The French period drama series focuses on how an ambitious working-class man Bernard Tapie became one of the most controversial public figures of France.

The Kidnapping Day (Streaming on Amazon Prime Video from 13th September)

The Korean dark comedy thriller series follows a father and his genius daughter who attempt to uncover the truth behind a series of killings.

Wrestlers (Streaming on Netflix from 13th September)

The Ohio Valley Wrestling gym at Kentucky is struggling financially and former pro wrestler Al Snow is given the task of turning around the iconic wrestlers’ training ground. This docuseries explores how a bunch of misfits join hands to help Al Snow achieve the goal.

Animals Up Close with Bertie Gregory (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from 13th September)

The docuseries hosted by Bertie Gregory will take the viewers to the most spectacular parts of the world and will give a sneak-peek into the daily lives of some extraordinary animals using modern technology.

Wilderness (Streaming on Amazon Prime Video from 15th September)

The thriller series follows the story of a British married couple Liva and Will. But when Liv becomes aware about her husband’s extra-marital affair, the heartbroken wife wants revenge, and their dream holiday eventually turns into a terrifying nightmare.

A Million Miles Away (Streaming on Amazon Prime Video from 15th September)

The film is based on a true story and follows NASA flight engineer Jose Hernandez and his incredible journey from a rural area in Mexico to the International Space Station with support from his entire community.

The Other Black Girl (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from 15th September)

Based on the 2021 novel of the same name, the mystery thriller comedy series revolves around an African American editorial assistant, who is the only Black woman working at a publishing firm in New York City. But her life takes an interesting turn when the company hires another Black woman, and she begins to unearth Wagner’s dark past.

Surviving Summer Season-2 (Streaming on Netflix from 15th September)

The Australian drama series revolves around a rebellious New York based teenager Summer Torres, who gets expelled from school and is sent to Australia. After reaching there, she begins to like the place and makes an impact among a group of young surfers.

Inside the World’s Toughest Prisons Season-7 (Streaming on Netflix from 15th September)

The documentary series focuses on the brutal life inside some of the toughest prisons across the world from the point of view of the prisoners or the guards or other related persons.
