Last week was marked with the arrival of some exciting foreign OTT titles including several films and web series such as ‘Riverdale Season-7’, ‘Murder Mystery 2’, ‘The Power’, ‘Tetris’ and ‘Kill Boksoon’, to name a few.
Likewise, the current week too has some eagerly anticipated foreign OTT films and web series coming up. For this article, we have compiled a list of the top foreign titles streaming on OTT platforms this week.
The Woman King (Streaming on Amazon Prime Video from 3rd April)
Inspired by true incidents and set in the 1800s period, the action-drama movie follows the story of an all-female military unit general Nanisca (Viola Davis), who trains the next generation to fight against the enemies.
Smile (Streaming on Amazon Prime Video from 4th April)
The psychological horror movie follows a psychiatrist, who begins to suspect that she is experiencing a supernatural phenomenon after a harrowing incident involving her patient.
The Crossover (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from 5th April)
Based on Kwame Alexander’s novel of the same name, the sports drama series narrates the story of two basketball champs and their adulthood days. It also focuses on how their father adjusts to post-basketball life and how their mother tries to pursue her lifelong dream.
Babylon (Streaming on BMS Stream from 5th April)
‘La La Land’ director Damien Chazelle’s 1920s set period drama focuses on the rise and fall of various characters during that period in Hollywood. The movie features Brad Pitt, Margot Robbie, and Diego Calva, amongst others.
Beef (Streaming on Netflix from 6th April)
The revenge-based comedy drama series features Steven Yeun and Ali Wong in the roles of a failing contractor and an unfulfilled businesswoman, respectively. The story revolves around how the two strangers get involved in a road rage incident, which brings forth the darkest sides of their natures and consumes them.
Chupa (Streaming on Netflix from 7th April)
Helmed by Jonas Cuaron, the movie follows a teenage boy, who travels to Mexico to visit his family. After reaching there, he finds and befriends a mythical creature in his grandfather’s shed. Now, he must embark on an adventurous journey to protect the mysterious creature from scientists.
Dave Season-3 (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from 7th April)
The comedy series features rapper comedian Lil Dicky as an alternate version of himself who firmly believes that he is set to become the one of the best rappers of all time.
Oh Belinda (Streaming on Netflix from 7th April)
It’s a remake of Atif Yilmaz’s award-winning 1986 film and follows the story of a young actor, who somehow gets transported into her character’s world after she unwillingly accepts to star in a shampoo commercial.
Transatlantic (Streaming on Netflix from 7th April)
The World War-II based drama series narrates the incredible story of two Americans and their friends who tried to help WW-II refugees by forming a rescue operation in 1940 in Marseilles.
Hunger (Streaming on Netflix from 8th April)
The Thai drama follows a talented cook named Aoy, who runs a family noodles restaurant in Bangkok. Her life takes a drastic turn when she is invited to join the ‘Hunger’ team led by an infamous yet ingenious fine-dining Chef Paul.
Tiny Beautiful Things (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from 9th April)
Based on Cheryl Strayed’s book of the same name, the miniseries features Kathryn Hahn as Clare, an under-achieving writer who reluctantly takes up the job of an advice columnist despite existing problems in her own life.
