This Week’s Top Foreign OTT Releases: GOTG-3, Heartstopper S2 Etc

Last week was marked with the arrival of some exciting foreign OTT titles including several films and web series such as ‘The Witcher Season-3 Vol.2’, ‘The Flash’, ‘Twisted Metal’, and ‘Hidden Strike’, to name a few.

Likewise, the current week too has some eagerly anticipated foreign OTT films and web series coming up. For this article, we have compiled a list of the top foreign titles streaming on OTT platforms this week.

Beau Is Afraid (Streaming on Amazon Prime Video – Rent from 1st August)

Ari Aster’s horror comedy movie starring Joaquin Phoenix follows the story of a mild-mannered but paranoid man Beau, who must deal with his darkest fears when he goes to attend his mother’s funeral.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3 (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from 2nd August)

In this James Gunn’s superhero movie sequel, Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) is still dealing with Gamora’s loss. Now, the half-human, half-celestial Star-Lord must team up with his ragtag bunch of friends to protect the universe and one of his own while facing the huge risk of the end of the Guardians.

Physical Season-3 (Streaming on Apple TV+ from 2nd August)

The comedy drama series features Rose Bryne as Sheila, a struggling homemaker who finds a way to empower and turn around her unexciting life. Her story arc continues in the second season where she must face professional rivalry in the fitness industry while concurrently dealing with her personal relationships with her husband Danny (Rory Scovel), who is wary of his wife’s newfound success.

Poisoned: The Dirty Truth About Your Food (Streaming on Netflix from 2nd August)

The documentary film focuses on the dangers of foodborne diseases which have caused many deaths in the US over the years.

Soulcatcher (Streaming on Netflix from 2nd August)

The Polish action thriller movie follows the story of a military contractor, who makes it his mission to retrieve a device which turns humans into ruthless killers after his own brother becomes a victim.

Heartstopper Season-2 (Streaming on Netflix from 3rd August)

Based on Alice Oseman’s graphic novel of the same name, the British romantic drama series revolves around two teenage boys Charlie and Nick. After they are made to sit together in a class, their unlikely friendship takes a different and unexpected turn as they begin to release that there is more to their relationship.

The Lincoln Lawyer Season-2 Part-2 (Streaming on Netflix from 3rd August)

The legal drama series follows an idealistic but troubled LA-based criminal defense lawyer Mickey Haller (played by Manuel Garcia-Rulfo), who runs his office from inside his Lincoln Town Car. He grabs an opportunity to revive his career after he unexpectedly gets a high-profile murder case. The show’s second season is based on Michael Connelly’s fourth book ‘The Fifth Witness’.

Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead (Streaming on Netflix from 3rd August)

Based on Haro Aso’s manga series, the action movie is about how the mundane life of an overworked corporate employee is turned around after the world is hit by a zombie outbreak.

Fatal Seduction Season-2 (Streaming on Netflix from 4th August)

The thriller series follows the story of a married woman, who develops a relationship with a younger man during a weekend getaway trip. But she soon gets embroiled in a murder case and her entire life turns upside down.

The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart (Streaming on Amazon Prime Video from 4th August)

Based on Australian author Holly Ringland’s bestselling novel, the series narrates the story of the titular character Alice Heart (played by Alycia Debnam-Carey), who loses her parents in a mysterious fire incident when she was just nine years old. After that, she moves in with her grandmother June Heart (Sigourney Weaver) to a flower farm. She begins to learn about the secrets of her life and about her family’s mysterious past.
