Last week was marked with the arrival of some exciting foreign OTT titles including several films and web series such as ‘Elvis’, ‘Peacemaker’, ‘Day Shift’, ‘Never Have I Ever S3’, ‘Locke & Key S3’, and ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine S8’, to name a few.
Likewise, the current week too has some eagerly anticipated OTT films and web series coming up for release. For this article, we have compiled a list of the top foreign titles streaming on Indian OTT platforms from this week.
She-Hulk: Attorney at Law (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from 17th August)
‘She-Hulk’ is a legal comedy series that is based on the character of a lawyer named Jennifer Walters, who gains superpowers after receiving blood from her cousin Bruce Banner. She eventually becomes an altered version of her male counterpart Hulk and fights cases involving superhumans.
High Heat (Streaming on Netflix from 17th August)
The Mexican drama show focuses on an investigation by a man named Poncho into the death of his brother. The clues lead him to a fire station, and he goes undercover and joins the place as a firefighter in his pursuit to find the killer.
Look Both Ways (Streaming on Netflix from 17th August)
The romantic comedy drama movie follows the protagonist Natalie (played by Lili Reinhart), whose life bifurcates into parallel realities. In one reality, she gets pregnant and takes care of her child in Texas while in another reality, she relocates to LA to achieve her dream.
Raised by Wolves Season-2 (Streaming on Amazon Prime Video from 18th August)
The sci-fi series is set in a world where two androids (Father & Mother) are given the task of raising humans on exoplanet Kepler-22b after Earth was destroyed in a large-scale war. But their already difficult job is further complicated by the arrival of a surviving group of humans who hold strong religious beliefs.
Soloman’s Perjury (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from 18th August)
The series revolves around an elite school which witnesses the death of a male student. The death is assumed to be a case of suicide by the cops and the school authorities, but the school students decide to unearth the mystery by holding their own school trial.
The Next 365 Days (Streaming on Netflix from 19th August)
The film is a sequel to the 2020 Polish romantic thriller ‘365 Days’ and its follow-up film ‘365 Days: This Day’. Michele Morrone and Anna-Maria Sieklucka reprise their roles as Massimo and Laura. The plot revolves around the duo’s evolving relationship while trying to overcome their trust issues.
The Girl in the Mirror (Streaming on Netflix from 19th August)
The Spanish supernatural thriller series follows the story of Alma, the only survivor of a bus accident who tries to unearth the mystery behind the crash and to retain her true identity while dealing with loss of memories from her past.
Echoes (Streaming on Netflix from 19th August)
The Australian mystery thriller web series revolves around the lives of twin sisters Leni and Gina (played by Michelle Monaghan), who have been secretly living each other’s lives for a long time. But the plot takes an interesting turn when one of the twin sisters suddenly goes missing.
The Last Client (Streaming on BookMyShow Stream from 19th August)
The Nordic thriller movie follows an eminent psychologist named Susanne, whose last client of a seemingly regular day at work turns out to be a dangerous serial killer. How she deals with the threat by using her skills forms the film’s underlying premise.
Butter (Streaming on BookMyShow Stream from 19th August)
Written and directed by Paul A. Kaufman, the film revolves around the bullied, obese high school student nicknamed Butter (Alex Kersting). He begins to gain sudden attention from his schoolmates after announcing that he will eat himself to death and that too live on the Internet. What happens when Butter reaches the suicide deadline?
