Last week was marked with the arrival of some exciting foreign OTT titles including several films and web series such as ‘Hijack’, ‘Jack Ryan S4’, ‘The Witcher S3’, and ‘Celebrity’, to name a few.
Likewise, the current week too has some eagerly anticipated foreign OTT films and web series coming up. For this article, we have compiled a list of the top foreign titles streaming on OTT platforms this week.
Shadow Detective Season-2 (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from 5th July)
The investigative Korean series follows the adventures of a veteran detective Kim Taek-Rok, who attempts to unearth the mystery behind a series of crimes in order to protect the city from an evil force.
Babylon (Streaming on Amazon Prime Video from 5th July)
‘La La Land’ director Damien Chazelle’s 1920s set period drama focuses on the rise and fall of various characters during that period in Hollywood. The movie features Brad Pitt, Margot Robbie, and Diego Calva, amongst others.
Joyland (Streaming on BMS Stream from 5th July)
Helmed by Saim Sadiq, the movie follows a Lahore-based middle-class joint family whose patriarch head wants a grandson to continue his family line. However, the story takes a turn when his son falls for a strong-willed transgender dancer.
The Lincoln Lawyer Season-2 Part-1 (Streaming on Netflix from 6th July)
The legal drama series follows an idealistic but troubled LA-based criminal defense lawyer Mickey Haller (played by Manuel Garcia-Rulfo), who runs his office from inside his Lincoln Town Car. He grabs an opportunity to revive his career after he unexpectedly gets a high-profile murder case. The show’s second season is based on Michael Connelly’s fourth book ‘The Fifth Witness’.
Gold Brick (Streaming on Netflix from 6th July)
The French heist comedy movie revolves around how a factory worker tries to get rid of his thankless job as he plans to traffic luxury perfumes without his employer knowing about it.
Fatal Seduction (Streaming on Netflix from 7th July)
The thriller series follows the story of a married woman, who develops a relationship with a younger man during a weekend getaway trip. But she soon gets embroiled in a murder case and her entire life turns upside down.
Return to Seoul (Streaming on Mubi from 7th July)
The French film revolves around a young woman, who was born in South Korea and was adopted by a French couple. Years later, she decides to return to the place to find the whereabouts of her biological parents.
The Horror of Dolores Roach (Streaming on Amazon Prime Video from 7th July)
The comedy horror series follows the titular protagonist Dolores Roach, who has just got released from prison after serving an unfair sentence. She reunites with an old friend and begins to work as a masseuse in his basement.
The Out-Laws (Streaming on Netflix from 7th July)
The action-comedy movie is about a morally upright bank manager, who is about to get married to his fiancé. But when his bank is held-up by the infamous Ghost Bandits a few days before the wedding, he begins to suspect that their future in-laws are behind it.
The Pope’s Exorcist (Streaming on Netflix from 7th July)
Helmed by Julius Avery, the horror movie is inspired by the actual files of the Vatican’s Chief Exorcist Father Gabriele Amorth (played by Russell Crowe). The film’s story revolves around how the exorcist investigates a young boy’s possession and unearths the mystery behind an age-old hidden conspiracy.
