This Week’s Top Foreign OTT Releases: The Marvels, Halo S2 & More

Last week was marked with the arrival of some exciting foreign OTT titles including several films and web series such as ‘Alexander: The Making of a God’ and ‘Mr. And Mrs. Smith’, to name a few.

Likewise, the current week too has some eagerly anticipated foreign OTT films and web series coming up. For this article, we have compiled a list of the top foreign titles streaming on OTT platforms this week.

Curb Your Enthusiasm Season-12 (Streaming on Jio Cinema from 5th February)
The sitcom features ‘Seinfeld’ co-creator Larry David as a fictionalized and over-the-top version of himself and narrates a fictionalized version of his life.

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom (Streaming on Amazon Prime Video, BMS Stream from 5th February – Rent)
Helmed by James Wan, the DECU superhero movie features Jason Momoa in the titular role of half-Atlantean, half-human Arthur Curry/Aquaman. He must join forces with his half-brother (Patrick Wilson) to protect his kingdom and save the world against a powerful enemy.

The Exorcist: Believer (Streaming on Jio Cinema from 6th February)
The horror film follows the story of a distressed couple whose daughter has been possessed by a demonic entity. They take the help of Chris MacNeil, who had undergone a similar experience many years back as the distressed actress-mother of a possessed child (played by Linda Blair).

The Marvels (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from 7th February)
The superhero movie’s plot revolves around how the film’s three main characters Captain Marvel, Ms. Marvel, and Monica Rambeau deal with swapping places after using their powers. It has been directed by Nia DaCosta of ‘Candyman’ fame.

Luz (Streaming on Netflix from 7th February)
The Portuguese web series follows the story of an adventurous schoolgirl, who decides to undertake a journey to learn the truth about her roots.

The Nun 2 (Streaming on Jio Cinema from 7th February)
After the brutal murder of a priest in 1956 France, Sister Irene investigates the killing and now she must once again face the evil nun, Valak.

Abbott Elementary Season-3 (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from 8th February)
Created by Quinta Brunson, the mockumentary comedy series features Quinta Brunson in the role of a teacher named Janine Teagues at the Philadelphia-based titular public school named Abbott Elementary. Janine has recently joined the underfunded school as a second-grade teacher and the show narrates Janine and her fellow teachers’ endeavours to guide students to excel in their lives despite the odds.

Halo Season-2 (Streaming on Jio Cinema from 8th February)
The show is based on the popular military action-adventure sci-fi game of the same name. It features Pablo Schreiber as a genetically enhanced super-soldier called Master Chief and how he defends the human race from an advanced alien alliance known as Covenant in the 26th century.

One Day (Streaming on Netflix from 8th February)
Based on David Nicholls’ novel, the romantic comedy series revolves around the love story of its two lead characters Emma and Dexter over a period of two decades.

A Killer Paradox (Streaming on Netflix from 9th February)
The South Korean series follows an ordinary man, who somehow gains the ability to identify bad people after he accidentally kills a serial killer. But on his trail is a cop who is investigating the murder case.

Alpha Males Season-2 (Streaming on Netflix from 9th February)
The Spanish comedy series follows the story of four friends named Pedro, Luis, Raúl and Santi, who must try to deal and adjust with the new women-empowered world they were not used to earlier. But will they be able to do that?

Lover, Stalker, Killer (Streaming on Netflix from 9th February)
When a mechanic tries to restart his romantic life with the help of an online dating app, he gets in touch with two women. But soon the situation takes a more serious turn when it turns into a dangerous love triangle.

Suncoast (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from 9th February)
The film follows the story of a young woman (Nico Parker), who develops an unlikely bond with an eccentric activist (Woody Harelson) while dealing with her brother’s illness. The movie also features Laura Linney.

Upgraded (Streaming on Amazon Prime Video from 9th February)
The romantic comedy movie follows the story of Ana (Camila Mendes), who gets upgraded to first class during a work trip. There, she meets a charming man, who mistakenly assumes her to be his boss and Ana plays along.
