This Week’s Top Indian OTT Releases: Doctor G, CAT, Blurr & More

Last week was marked with the arrival of some exciting Indian OTT titles including several films and web series such as ‘Freddy’, ‘Qala’, ‘Goodbye’, ‘India Lockdown’ and ‘Love Today’, to name a few.

Likewise, the current week too has some eagerly anticipated OTT films and web series coming up. For this article, we have compiled a list of the top Indian titles streaming on OTT platforms this week.

Moving in with Malaika (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from 5th December)

Get a sneak-peek into the glamorous life and true self of Indian actress Malaika Arora through unfiltered conversations along with guest appearances from her close friends and family members in the reality series.

The Elephant Whisperers (Streaming on Netflix from 8th December)

Directed by Kartiki Gonsalves, the 41-minute nature short documentary revolves around a South Indian couple named Bomman and Bellie, who forge a unique and emotional bond with an orphaned elephant named Raghu. They work very hard in taking care of the elephant.

CAT (Streaming on Netflix from 9th December)

Helmed by Balwinder Singh Janjua, the action thriller web series follows the story of a former police informant (Randeep Hooda) who is enlisted for a daredevil mission to infiltrate a drug empire. Now, he must deal with his dark past to save his brother’s life.

Blurr (Streaming on Zee5 from 9th December)

Ajay Bahl’s horror thriller movie features Taapsee Pannu as a woman named Gayatri, who is on the verge of losing her vision while she investigates her twin sister Gautami’s mysterious death. The movie also features Gulshan Devaiah in an important role.

Faadu (Streaming on SonyLIV from 9th December)

In the romance series, an angry and intense poet Abhay (Pavail Gulati) falls for a poetess named Manjiri (Saiyami Kher), who has a completely different outlook towards life.

The action-comedy film’s underlying story revolves around two travel vloggers, who travel to Araku Valley to shoot for their YouTube channel, but eventually find themselves in the middle of the violent conflict between the police and a team of rebellions.

Monsoon Raga (Streaming on Zee5 from 9th December)

Helmed by S. Ravindranath, the Kannada language drama movie narrates the stories of four couples who belong to different backgrounds. How they navigate their romantic relationships and bypass factors such as caste, religion, and financial status forms the film’s crux.

Roy (Streaming on SonyLIV from 9th December)

The Malayalam mystery thriller movie features Suraj Venjaramoodu in the titular role of Roy, a librarian, who is blessed with a special power. His life takes a drastic turn after his wife suddenly disappears and now, he must find her at any cost in a race against time.

Witness (Streaming on SonyLIV from 9th December)

The political drama movie focuses on the hard-hitting truth behind manual scavenging and the resulting deaths caused by it. The basic story follows a mother’s desperate fight against powerful people after her son’s death.

Urvasivo Rakshasivo (Streaming on Aha Video from 9th December)

The romantic comedy movie focuses on a middle-class IT employee Sree Kumar (Allu Sirish), whose conservative parents want him to get married soon. But Sree is madly in love with his broad-minded office colleague Sindhujha (Anu Emmanuel), who wants a live-in relationship instead.

Doctor G (Streaming on Netflix from 11th December)

Set amidst the backdrop of a medical college campus in Bhopal, the social comedy film features Ayushmann Khurrana as Dr. Uday Gupta, the only male student who unwillingly ends up in the gynaecology department, despite his penchant for orthopaedics. Directed by Anubhuti Kashyap (Afsos), the movie also features Rakul Preet Singh as a medical student Dr. Fatima, Shefali Shah as Dr. Nandini, and Sheeba Chaddha as Ayushmann’s mother.
