79th Golden Globes went underway on Sunday via a press release. Notable Hollwyood performers like Nicole Kidman, Will Smith, Rachel Zegler, Kodi Smit-McPhee, and Ariana DeBose won in their respective categories. But there is one GG winner who is stealing all the limelight. Yes, it’s Andrew Garfield!
Garfield bagged this year’s Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy. He had to beat the likes of Leonardo DiCaprio and Peter Dinklage to get his hands on the award. You all must be wondering why Garfield is getting so much attention for his GG win. Right?
SPOILER WARNING!
Twitteratis are enthralled after Garfield’s GG win this time. They are heavily trending #TickTickBoom on Twitter to celebrate the actor’s recent achievement. Maybe it’s because of his “surprise” appearance in MCU’s latest entry, Spider-Man No Way Home, alongside Tobey Maguire. It seems like fans cannot get enough of Andrew these days. He previously earned a GG nomination back in 2017 for his exceptional performance in Mel Gibson’s Hacksaw Ridge.
The movie “Tick, Tick… Boom!” tells the story of Jonathan Larson, set in the 90s. It shows the struggles of Larson to set up his rock opera in New York City. The infamous AIDS epidemic ended up taking many of his buddies’ lives at that time. This scenario also affected his passion for work. But it also inspired him to become one of the greatest artists in the history of theatres.
Apart from Andrew Garfield, the film has Alexandra Shipp, Vanessa Hudgens, Judith Light, and many more with Lin-Manuel Miranda at the helm. It is available on the Netflix streaming service.
