‘The Killer’ is director David Fincher‘s next interesting film for Netflix after last year’s ‘Mank’. As we had informed our readers earlier, David Fincher has signed a four-year exclusive deal with Netflix, under which he will create various projects for the streaming giant. Fincher is creating ‘The Killer’ as part of that deal.
Now we have news that British actress Tilda Swinton has joined the cast of ‘The Killer’. Michael Fassbender is already onboard the project, and will essay the titular role. The film was to go on the floors this month, but looks to be slightly delayed.
‘The Killer’ will see David Fincher team up with screenwriter Andrew Kevin Walker, who had written Fincher’s 1995 serial killer suspense thriller ‘Se7en’. ‘The Killer’ is said to be an assassin thriller, adapted from a French graphic novel series. It tells the story of an assassin who begins to develop a conscience and questions himself on the work he is doing, even as clients line up at his door, demanding his particular set of skills.
If ‘The Killer’ keeps its date with kicking off production soon, it may hopefully land on Netflix in 2022. David Fincher has also created the mind-bending psychological crime thriller series ‘Mindhunter‘ for Netflix. The series has two seasons as of now. Fans have been demanding Mindhunter Season 3 for long, but it doesn’t seem to becoming reality any time in the near future.
