Indian entertainment industry has always been distant with the sci-fi genre. But with the recent evolution that is in place in Bollywood, there have been plenty of movies and web series which are trying hard to bring this popular genre into big and small screens. Some of the examples are 24, Jl50 which beautifully introduces the concept of time travel and no doubt that they have been loved very much.
Director Badrinath Sabat has recently announced that he is working on a sci-fi web series that will be based on the concept of popular sci-fi theories such as Time Travel, Black holes, Wormholes, theory of relativity etc. The show has been named ‘Time Series’.
Talking about the show Sabar shared that Time Series will be an amalgamation of 5 stories which has the concept of time as their core. Growing up he was himself fond of science fiction novels and that has motivated himself to work on the show. According to him, the concept of time travel hasn’t been done in the industry and with ‘Time Series’ he’ll be trying to show science in a different manner.
Veteran actor Virendra Saxena who has appeared in numerous shows and movies will be seen here in a crucial role. He’ll be the centre of all the five different stories. The rest of the cast is yet to be finalized by the makers. Regarding which platform the show will be arriving is still unknown as nothing has been revealed regarding this.
Seeing the response that Time Travel genre and even sci-fi genre is getting nowadays is a good sign for Indian entertainment industry as we surely are bored of the same masala movies that are churned out every year by the makers just to make quick bucks. And seeing how the shows are faring in OTT platforms, Time Series actually has a good chance to strike a chord with the audience with it’s ingenious approach!
