Money Heist fans rejoice! The Spanish drama series that caught global attention has been renewed for a fifth and final season by streaming platform Netflix.
The announcement came yesterday after the official Netflix account on Twitter posted a tweet, “THE HEIST COMES TO AN END PART 5.”
Season 4 of the show released in April this year and immediately dominated the top spot in the Top 10 Netflix list worldwide. The Spanish heist series originally aired on a Spanish broadcast channel as ‘La Casa De Papel’ and was later picked up by Netflix in 2017.
‘Money Heist’ has become a global phenomenon and Netflix’s most watched non-English series ever. The Spanish drama upped its production value and gave a high-stakes storyline that has kept fans on the edge of their seats since the start.
The two part heist came to a conclusive end in season two and the later seasons saw the band return to take on another heist. Season 5 will pick up where season 4 left off for an ultimate farewell to the story and its characters.
The whole gang including the beloved Professor, Rio, Tokyo, Denver, Lisbon and Stockholm among others will return to reprise their roles along with some new cast members. As per reports filming for the 5th season will begin soon as creator Alex Pina has already spent almost a year developing a gratifying end to the mega-hit show.
The cast includes Úrsula Coberó (Tokyo), Álvaro Morte (The Professor), Itziar Ituño (Lisbon) and Pedro Alonso (Berlin) among others. It has been created by Alex Pina and produced by Vancouver Media.
