It seems like Paramount Pictures is having fun with Greta Gerwig’s Barbie, one of this weekend’s biggest rollouts. The Margot Robbie starrer is all set to clash against Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer. Meanwhile, we have Seth Rogen’s ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem’ and its brand-new trailer, which mocks the world of Barbie and its residents.
The film’s newest trailer, ‘Our Dream House is a Sewer’, shows Don spying on Barbie and her friends from his dream sewer house with the help of a periscope. He starts complaining about how pink the world of Barbie is (Mike likes pink, though). On the other hand, Ralph (the group’s hothead) points out how no one works there and how they manage to afford all the luxuries they have. After eating delicious slices of pizza, Turtles gear up for a fight. Soon, the clip transitions to the style of animation that viewers will see in the film in theatres.
Mutant Mayhem’s teaser and trailer focused more on the four protagonists, their father, Splinter (Jackie Chan), and April O’Neil (Ayo Edebiri). However, the newest trailer gives a closer look at other characters in the film: Superfly (Ice Cube), Rocksteady (John Cena), Leatherhead (Rose Byrne), Wingnut (Natasia Demetriou), Ray Fillet (Post Malone), Baxter Stockman (Giancarlo Esposito), Bebop (Seth Rogen), Cynthia (Maya Rudolph), Genghis Frog (Hannibal Buress), and Mondo Gecko (Paul Rudd). Mondo just likes hugging everybody!
Do not get surprised if Turtles make fun of Oppenheimer too. Though, that would be very interesting to watch!
Here’s the film’s official synopsis:
“In Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, after years of being sheltered from the human world, the Turtle brothers set out to win the hearts of New Yorkers and be accepted as normal teenagers through heroic acts. Their new friend April O’Neil helps them take on a mysterious crime syndicate, but they soon get in over their heads when an army of mutants is unleashed upon them.”
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem will arrive in theatres worldwide on August 2. Stay tuned for more updates.
