The release date of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem has changed. It was originally scheduled for a global theatrical release on August 11 but was later moved up to August 4. The makers have changed the film’s release window again. Now, the upcoming TMNT instalment will hit theatres worldwide on August 2.
The official Twitter handle of the film revealed the new release date and a brand new poster. Additionally, the post disclosed that the movie’s official trailer will drop next week, on May 31.
Mutant Mayhem is the joint production of Point Grey Pictures and Nickelodeon Movies, with distribution being handled by Paramount Pictures. Based on the characters created by the duo of Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird, the forthcoming TMNT entry will serve as a reboot of the film series.
TMNT: Mutant Mayhem will premiere at this year’s Annecy International Animation Film Festival on June 12 before arriving in the theatres.
The film’s storyline will revolve around a group of four Turtle brothers residing in New York City’s sewers. They want people to accept them as normal teenagers through their acts of heroism. However, things become difficult after the brothers find themselves in a fight against an army of mutants and a mysterious crime syndicate.
Helmed by Jeff Rowe, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem stars Micah Abbey, Shamon Brown Jr, Hannibal Buress, Rose Byrne, Nicolas Cantu, John Cena, Jackie Chan, Ice Cube, Paul Rudd, Seth Rogen, and more. Rogen has also produced the project along with his screenplay duties for the film. It will come out on August 2. Stay tuned for more updates.
