To All The Boys Writer Jenny Han Moves To Amazon For ‘The Summer I Turned Pretty’

Amazon Prime Video has ordered a new series that will be an adaptation of the novel series titled ‘The Summer I Turned Pretty’ by Jenny Han. Earlier, Netflix had adapted Han’s ‘To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before’ novel series into a three part film franchise.

The ‘The Summer I Turned Pretty’ is a trilogy of books that follows Isabel “Belly” Conklin in the summers she spends at Cousin’s Beach with her mother and older brother, along with her mother’s lifelong best friend and her sons.

The series version on Amazon will consist of eight episodes, where the audience will witness not just a coming-of-age romantic drama but also witness the bond between mothers and their children and strong female friendships.

‘The Summer I Turned Pretty’ pilot episode has been written by Han who will serve as the showrunner alongside Gabrielle Stanton (‘Haven’, ‘The Flash’). Both Han and Stanton will also executive produce the Amazon series in association with Karen Rosenfelt Paul Lee, Nne Ebong and Hope Hartman.

Earlier in 2013 Lionsgate Entertainment had secured the rights of Han’s book trilogy, with plans to turn the trilogy into a television series. But now Amazon Studios and wiip will bring the series to the audience. As of now no further details about the cast and release date have been revealed by Amazon.
