To Look Out For: Apple TV+’s Studded Slate For The Month: Part 1

2024 is stealthily proving to be one for the books for Apple TV+. The streamer has dropped hit after hit releases throughout the year, with a highly anticipated star-studded line-up upcoming. Its genre-spanning slate has included acclaimed titles like ‘Palm Royale’, ‘Argylle’, ‘Sugar’, and ‘Dark Matter’ so far. Lets dive into the titles premiering this month!

1. June 12: Presumed Innocent
The limited series is set to dive deep into the aftermath of a horrific murder as it upends Chicago’s prosecuting attorney’s office when one of their own is suspected of the crime.
The show has already garnered a lot of attention as Jake Gyllenhaal and crime thrillers have often proved to be a match well made! Moreover, the ensemble cast also includes big win-it-all names like Renate Reinsve and Ruth Negga. Based on Alan J. Pakula widely appreciated film, the show has it all: a riveting storyline and brilliant actors. Fingers crossed in hopes it delivers!

2. June 21: Bread and Roses
A documentary film based on the powerful resistance of Afghan women against the Taliban when Kabul fell under their violently misogynistic rule back in 2021.
It is often difficult to watch the ugly truth of our world. Especially when it is so blatantly and poignantly pointed out. However, in this case, the very same reason makes this documentary a must-watch. Not only is it another eye-opener to the struggles that Afghan women continue to face, but is also a ballad of their unyielding strength.

3. June 26: Land of Women
Based on the award-winning author Sandra Barneda’s bestselling novel, the miniseries stars Golden Globe-nominee Eva Longoria as Gala, a woman whose joyful New York life is destroyed when her husband implicates their family in a financial crime. Fearing for safety, she flees to a quaint Spanish town that, coincidentally, her mother also fled to, 50 years prior.
A gripping tale of crime juxtaposed with the intricacy of familial ties, the series already has an audience-approved plotline as its stepping stone. Set against the gorgeousness of Barcelona, the show seems to promise an overall pleasing viewer experience!

Stay tuned for Part 2!
