As per latest reports, amidst much confusion, Nani‘s ‘Tuck Jagadish‘ will finally now release on Amazon Prime Video on the 10th of September, Ganesh Chaturthi. The film has been in the news for the longest time due to speculation regarding its release. Much to the dismay of theatre associations and lead actor Nani, the film’s rights were given to the streaming platform, for which the actor even sent out a heartfelt note. This was followed by a short row with theatre owners, who later apologized to the makers, thus leading to further uncertainty around the film’s release.
Meanwhile, actor Nithin’s ‘Maestro‘ was all set for a digital release on Disney+Hotstar on the 9th of September, which we learn now, has been pushed to a later date to make way for ‘Tuck Jagadish’. This would otherwise have been a big OTT face-off, with both highly anticipated movies releasing just a day apart. However, the clash has been amicably averted and ‘Maestro’ will now release during the 3rd week of September, for which an official announcement is expected shortly. A new twist to this is the fact that the streaming giant has just announced the digital release of Vijay Sethupathi-Taapsee Pannu starrer ‘Annabelle Sethupathi’ on the 17th of September. Does that mean ‘Maestro’ will be further pushed? The official statement regarding the OTT Premiere of ‘Tuck Jagadish’ though, will be out tomorrow.
Now, the third angle to this mega movie mayhem is the Naga Chaitanya–Sai Pallavi starrer ‘Love Story‘, which was again slated for a theatrical release on 10th September. The makers have now decided to push its date too, to avoid the clash with ‘Tuck Jagadish’. As per rumour mills, the makers are in no hurry to release the film and are eyeing the date of 17th September. Though, the confusion here is that in the quest to avoid a clash with ‘Tuck Jagadish’, they have taken on the same with ‘Maestro’. So in all probability, ‘Maestro’ may look at the 24th or a date nearing the end of September, to avoid a clash with both ‘Love Story’ and ‘Annabelle Sethupathi’.
What will this pandemic pandemonium show us now? A commendable point in all this is the fact that all associated are working things out together to ensure a smooth release for all movies. Now, that is quite heartwarming, isn’t it?
