Tom Felton Joins Hansal Mehta’s Stellar Cast For ‘Gandhi’ Series!

Tom Felton, the childhood crush of millions of Harry Potter fans, is now up to join the cast of an Indian project. Felton will have the role of Josiah Oldfield, Gandhi’s best friend during his stay in London.

The role of Gandhi will be played by Pratik Gandhi, who also worked with Hansal Mehta in the astounding ‘Scam 1996’. Pratik Gandhi’s wife Bhamini Oza will be playing Kasturba Gandhi herself. Apart from Felton, there will be other actors from abroad in the show. That includes James Murray, Jonno Davies, Simon Lennon, Molly Wright, Libby Mai and Lindon Alexander.

The project is being produced under the banner of Applause Entertainment. Hansal Mehta had said earlier that making this series on Gandhi will be like a passion project for him. The filmmaker is known for wonderful and captivating storytelling in movies like ‘Shahid’, ‘Aligarh’ or shows like ‘Scam 1996’.

Tom Felton famously played the grey shaded antagonist Draco Malfoy in the Harry Potter series and gained huge fandom at that time. The actor has said, “I’m excited to be part of the journey of telling the story of Gandhi’s early years in London. It’s an important aspect of history that hasn’t been told on screen before, and to be working with Hansal and Pratik is an honour and pleasure.”
